Receptionists are available to take your calls between 8.00am and 6.30 pm Monday to Friday.

The GP appointments are book on the day from 8am by phone and all appointments are by telephone. When you have the telephone consultation with the GP they will make you aware whether you need to come down for a Face to Face appointment.

We run all our surgeries by an appointment only system. Please remember that each appointment is for one person only. Children under 16 should normally be accompanied by an adult. If you cannot keep your appointment please let us know as soon as possible.

Appointments with a Doctor or a Nurse can be requested by contacting the surgery either by phone or in person or using the online service.

On the day appointments are available each day but will be with any doctor, not necessarily the doctor of your choice depending on availability.

The receptionist may ask you the nature of the problem to ensure everybody is seen by the most appropriate person.

We try to make sure you see the doctor of your choice but if they are not available we may ask you to see another doctor.

Extended hours

We can offer extended hours service with a GP, Physicians Associate, Practice Nurse, HCA and Minor Illness Nurse at Medici Medical Practice and Gardenia Surgery. These are aimed at people who are unable to attend in normal hours due to work commitments. These appointments are available to book by our reception staff. Find out further information here.

Chaperones

If you so wish, we are happy to provide a chaperone during physical examinations. Your doctor may offer this or you may request a chaperone yourself.

Home visits

If you are too ill to come to the surgery and you require a visit at home, please call the surgery before 10.00am. It is helpful if you can provide the receptionist with an indication of why a home visit is required. Home visits take up much more of a doctor’s time than a consultation in the surgery, so if you are mobile please come into the surgery to be seen.
